Training course for theatre actors

The empty space

The seminar is particularly dedicated to young actors seeking tools to increase their awareness of the theatre and live performance’s founding principles.

"When we lack something, we either give up or seek it out."
Ferruccio Marotti

The seminar is particularly dedicated to young actors seeking tools to increase their awareness of the theatre and live performance’s founding principles.

It is therefore not a place where participants learn pre-coded techniques or languages, stereotypical training methods or pre-established exercises to measure with.

Participants will gradually be led to confront themselves with the constituent elements of a physical training aimed at expanding the perception of their relational space.

Body to be expanded, extended, exposed, transcended and at the same time educated, oriented, guided and disciplined.

 Main objectives

  • Rediscover the centrality of the body in the creative act.
  • Expand one’s listening and relational skills starting from one’s roots
  • Explore the expressive possibilities of physical and vocal language.
  • Experimenting with the state of creative disposition that lies at the heart of an actor’s dramaturgy
  • Awakening awareness and training the body-mind as an essential tool for an actor’s authentic presence
  • Exploring some possible paths for actors to work on themselves

The workshop will be held in English

During the work, the great masters and protagonists of 20th-century theatre will often be invoked and questioned. The Fathers of a new language who, regardless of the diversity of their answers, were able to stimulate and support the progress of an art form as ancient as necessary.

Only by drawing on their legacy can we open ourselves up to new avenues of research.
